In the beginning, the company was named as Cingular Wireless but later on October 26, 2004 the company purchased the AT&T wireless and thus its name was changed to At&T in 2007. After the purchase, the customer base of the new company became 46 million which made it the largest wireless service provider at that time. Further it was on March 13, 2014, that the company acquired the Leap Wireless. The Bellsouth was bought by the company on March 5, 2006. It was on May 19 2007 that the logo of Cingular was replaced with the new logo of AT&T. Also in May 2007, company was redirected its official from Cingular.com to wireless.att.com. Dobson Communications was purchased by the company in May 2007.
