What is Caribbean Maritime Institute?

The famously known Caribbean islands are a group of almost seven Hundred Islands and are much known for their Marine practices. Caribbean Maritime Institute is one of the most well-known institutes for its quality education and the diversity of courses provided. Earlier known as the Jamaica Maritime training institute, the Caribbean Maritime Institute got birth due to the collaboration of Government of Jamaica with the Government of Kingdom of Norway. The institute was established with the primary Aim of train the Jamaicans for Marine handling programs. Seeking opportunities for growth and with a Vision to expand the course of education the Caribbean Maritime institute adopted the Blue Ocean Strategy philosophy. The major perspective of this philosophy was to provide degree courses in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Shipping. Today the institute offers bachelors degree in Port management, Logistics and supply chain management, Cruises shipping and Maritime tourism, Industrial systems and many more. The institute provides with the required facilities of learning that includes four main classrooms, three auditoriums, workshops, Computer laboratories, science laboratories and the Lucien Rattray resource centre. Caribbean Maritime Institute has proved to be serving the society on a large scale breaking the barriers of unemployment. In order to motivate the youth to gain education the Institute offers financials aids to students under various schemes. Climbing Up the ladder, today Caribbean Maritime Institute has made affiliations with various companies and institutes to Foster growth of its people. For its sound education practices the school has also achieved certifications from ISO. Today many of its aluminise holds Key positions in the Maritime industry.
