History
The Dodge brand was founded in 1900 by two Brothers Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis Dodge. Formally, the Dodge company was engaged in the distribution and assembling of Auto spare in Detroit. In 1915, they started manufacturing the automobiles and founded Chrysler Corporation.
Canadian Subsidiary
Chrysler Canada Inc is the Canadian subsidiary established in 1925. The Chrysler Corporation of Canada completely managed by Maxwell-Chalmers plant in Windsor Ontario that has been utilized to produce Chrysler vehicles. Formerly it used to be known as Chrysler Canada, Ltd which changed to Daimlerchrysler Canada Inc after the consolidation of the two Guardian companies. In August 2007, Cerberus Capital Management acquired 80.1% shares of its parent company Chrysler LLC.
Operations
Chrysler Canada operates Three assembling plants. All three plants collectively assembled over 535,878 cars and trucks in 2002. In 2007, the company sold 232,688 vehicles in the Canadian market. In 2012, Chrysler Canada sales was increased by 6%, making it one of the largest car manufacturers in Canada, in terms of sales.
