IHOP stands for the International House of Pancakes is an American chain of fast food restaurants that has a specialty in breakfast dishes. Its headquarters is located in Glendale, California, United States. Founded by Al Lapin, Albert Kallis and Jerry Lapin, IHOP or the International House of Pancakes began its journey in 1958.

The chain opened doors in market on July 7, 1958 through its first restaurant located at 4301 Riverside Drive in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, California. The restaurant's menu initially concentrated on several varieties of pancakes but later, the menu was extended to incorporate lunch and dinner foods. Currently, IHOP is owned and operated by DineEquity.

Though the IHOP menu focuses on breakfast items such as omelets, breads, toasts and a wide range of pancakes like Raspberry Peach Pancakes, Three Eggs and Pancakes and Blueberry Cannoli Pancakes but it also offers a variety of dishes listed as sandwiches, salads and drinks etc. It also presents a menu that offers items exclusively for kids like Kid's ICE creams, funny face pancake etc.

The International House of Pancakes or IHOP has an employment strength of about 32,300 people and its operational network spans to about 1500 locations throughout the United States. The restaurant's various franchised outlets are owned and monitored by independent individuals. In 2013, IHOP's another branch was inaugurated in Middle East in Kuwait.

IHOP was honored and rewarded with the Gold Halo Award for the Best Transactional Campaign by the Cause Marketing Forum. In 2012, it was acknowledged with the Restaurant Neighbor Award held by the California Restaurant Association.
