What is UMF?
Ultra Music Festival is a yearly musical festival that was held for the first time in the famous city of Miami, Florida of United States. The founder of this festival was the business partners Alex Omes and Russel Faibisch in the year of 1999. The Very first festival that occurs as a one day festival on 13 March 1999 in Collins Park in Miami's South Beach. Ultra Musical Festival was inaugurated by various artists Paul Rabbit in the Moon, Josh Wink, DJ Baby Anne and Paul Van Dyk. The festival proved to be a very popular and was estimated the attendance of ten thousand people. But during the festival the partners Alex and Russel suffer from a loss of US$10000-20000 dollars
UMF 2000 Festival Collins
In the year of 2000 the organizer decided to return the festival in the
Collins Park. It was a one day festival. The festival achieved a huge success in a day with the attendance of 150000 and was decided to renew the festival for the third year.
During the tremendous growth in the attendance in 1999-2000, the organizer of the festival decided to perform the event for the third time in
Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami with special performance by Tiesto,
Paul Oakenfold and
EC Twins. Now in the year of 2013-2014, it is a three days festival.
UMF 2012 Festival was Celebration
During 2012 the festival was celebrated from March 23-March 25 in the same Bayfront park. The tickets ware sold within the time of 20 minutes for the event and the Price of tickets were increased to $149 to $229. A golden performance made by
Madona as well singing her album MDNA. After that the price of tickets were raised from $229 to $299.
UMF 2013 Two weekends Festival
In the year of 2013, the organizer decided to celebrate the festival in two weekends as they were celebrating the 15th anniversary of Ultra Music festival.Both the weekends were treated as the beginning and end of Miami Music week.
On twelve January 2015 one the founder of this event was found dead namely Alex Omes at the Age of just 43 and the cause of his death was unknown.
