What is AMC Theatre Whitby Contact?
AMC (American Multi-Cinema) Theatres is an American movie theatre chain. The chain is owned and operated by Amc Entertainment, Inc., which is a subsidiary of Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda Group. It is an industry leader with pioneering amenities with the Aim of providing the best theatre environment to the customers.
Background
The theatre was founded in the year 1920 by the Dubinsky Brothers in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. It is headquartered at Leawood, Kansas. By 1961, Stanley Durwood, son of one of the original owners took control over the theatre. He found the single screen concept as limiting and then the first ever multiplex theatre in the world was born. By 1968, the multi-screen theatre chain expanded nationwide. It has always looked beyond for newer and better ideas by providing AMC Dine-In Theatres with Cinema Suites and Fork & Screen and MacGuffins bars, to delight customers. It introduced stadium style seating so that people could have unobstructed screen view.
AMC Operations
It also offers the Movie Watcher program, which is a guest loyalty program for rewarding the frequent moviegoers. With the opening of AMC Grand 24 in Dallas, Texas, in 1995, AMC pioneered the first North American megaplex, a theatre that could accommodate thousands. The largest theatres in the AMC chain have thirty screens, including the AMC Ontario Mills 30 in Ontario, California and AMC Forum 30 in Sterling Heights, Michigan. It sold six of eight Canadian theatres in July 2012, which included 4 (including the locations in Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square and Montreal's Forum) to Cineplex Entertainment, and 2 (Kanata and Whitby) to Empire Theatres. Then, in 2013, Landmark Cinemas bought the Kanata and Whitby locations.
