What is Tricare South?
Tricare South is one of the operational region of Tricare, a health care service for military personnel in the United States. Tricare is a part of Military Health System in the United States. At Tricare South, the military personnel can enjoy the following services such as behavioral health resources, enroll in Tricare Reserve select, pay prime enrollment fee, travel with TRICARE prime, file a claim, file a TRICARE for life claim and many others.
Tricare Countrywide Operations
The headquarters of Tricare health care program is Falls Church, Virginia. It is offered to the military personnel since 1966. In the starting the program was known as
Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services (CHAMPUS). The health care program is operated and managed by the
United States Department of Defense Military Health System. The Ministry had given the responsibilities to
Tricare Management Activity to handle all the operations of Tricare Program. Defense Health Agency (DHA) has been handling all the operations of the program since 1st of October 2013. Addition to the active military personnel, many other people are also eligible for the program services such as retired military personnel and dependents.
