Y108 Hamilton Radio station was initially propelled in 1948 as FM 94.1 CHML, a simulcast of AM station CHML. The simulcast was along these lines dropped in the 1950s, leaving the station noiseless.
- The proprietors relaunched the FM signal on the 95.3 recurrence in 1964, with unmistakable programming from its AM sister station.
- In 1967 the station embraced the new callsign CKDS, to pay tribute to organization originator Kenneth D. Soble.
