History
Activision was founded by Crane, Miller & Whitehead after they left Atari who was only publisher of games at that time. After sometime, Jim Levy, a music industry Executive also join the Activision. Activision released Pitfall in 1982 which gets huge success. After one year, the company buys Infocom, a text adventure Pioneer on June 13, 1986 but after Three years in 1989, Activision closed Infocom Due to many years of losses. In 1988, Activision also started publishing business applications as a result they changed their corporate name to Mediagenic. New Activision
An investor group led by Robert Kotick took over the Mediagenic & officially changed company's name back to Activision in December, 1992. After that company become part of a Delaware Corporation. Then Activision moved its headquarters to Santa Monica in South California from Mountain View in the Silicon Valley.
