What is Delhi University Library?
Delhi University Library is a Central Library that has a wide collection text books, periodicals, theses, manuscripts and dissertations. Delhi University or University of Delhi is a Central University that has been funded by Government of India. The university was established in the year 1922 by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly. Delhi University operates various colleges such as Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Delhi School of Economics, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, St. Stephen's College, etc.
Delhi University Library was founded 1st December, 1958 with a collection of more than 1000 books.
Delhi University Library consists of various departments such as Urdu, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Slavonic & Finno-Ugrian Studies, Modern Indian Languages & Literary Studies, Political Science, Persian, Political Science, Psychology, Philosophy, Library & Information Science, Linguistics, History, Hindi, African & Buddhist Studies, Arabic and English. The membership is applicable for University Teachers, Non-Teaching staff and the students of PhD., M.Phil, M.A. (Ex).
