Hmrc Manchester Phone Number, Contact Address, Customer Service

On Saturday 3rd September 2016, I returned to Manchester Airport on a Lufthansa flight from Krakow, Poland changing at Munich Airport. I was stopped by Border Force when my e-passport would not let me through the e-gate and invited to take a seat pending the arrival of an HMRC officer. The officer asked if I had been outside the EU and I replied that I had not. He then asked me about a watch I had bought in Switzerland earlier this year. I told him that it had been properly declared when I arrived at Liverpool Airport and he asked if I had paid the duty. I said that I had paid by credit card which was taken over the phone by HMRC at Manchester Airport. After some delay, the officer was able to confirm that payment had been made, but for some reason the computer had not been updated and I was apparently being flagged up as defaulting payment. He assured me that the computer would be updated, but he did not know how long that would take. I would request, please, that this is attended to promptly as I am flying to Hamburg this week and I would not like a repeat perfomance of what happened to me on Saturday. To assist you in finding the details, the transaction was written up on Articles Imported docket C340672, issued at Liverpool on 13th June 2016 by HMRC Officer 11824 in the sum of £1125. 00. Payment was was made by Mastercard to HMRC at Terminal one, Manchester Airport on 13th June at 19:10. I think you will agree that enough time has elapsed for your records to be updated. I will be pleased to hear from you that you can confirm that the matter is clear and that the records are now up to date. Thank you. My email address for your response is GZell8@aol.com.
